Did You Know?

The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA), formerly known as Gardiner, is available for students ages 3 through 12th grade with specific diagnoses. The funds can be used for a combination of programs and approved expenses including therapists, specialists, curriculum, private school, a college savings account and more. We are an approved provider, which means these funds can cover your child’s private speech therapy costs. This is separate from any county-provided therapy they may already receive at their private school. Students enrolled in public school are not eligible for this scholarship.

Did You Know?

The Communication Station is one of a few approved providers for Voluntary Prekindergarten Specialized Instructional Services (VPK-SIS) in Polk County. This program is state funded through the Early Learning Coalition and is designed for 4 & 5 year olds who have a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and are transitioning into kindergarten next school year. If your child has not used a VPK voucher, turned 4 before September 1st of the current school year, and is not already an FES-UA recipient, they may

qualify for this amazing program!

“Maeghan is wonderful! She has been working with my 5 year old with a phonological disorder the last few months. His confidence and intelligibility has increased so much and he is always thrilled to see her! She is dependable and easy to communicate with and makes each lesson so much fun for him!”

“Meghan is hands down amazing! she really knows her stuff and is super knowledgeable. The hand movements she uses with our 3yr old when correcting his lip or mouth placement, he even uses when he’s not with her to practice at home. She builds such a strong relationship with her students that they LOVE seeing her. She sends videos or texts updates which is super helpful to enforce at home. We would highly recommend her services to anyone!!!”

“ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! I’ve been struggling to find someone who would genuinely listen to me about my son’s speech delays and ACTUALLY care to help him. (Not just treat him like another number in the system like the county tends to do.) I found that here! My sons has only received about a months worth a therapy and I can already see improvements! I especially enjoy the little videos I get of my son during the sessions. If you’re looking for someone who’s going to actually care about your child and take a serious interest in helping your child, look no further!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Maeghan! We’ve seen fantastic progress with our 4 year old while working with Maeghan on consonant sounds. She is the first speech therapist (after a year in a clinic of revolving therapists) to touch her face and the difference in my daughters speech was instantaneous! I had tears in my eyes seeing the difference in their first session! We’ve been working with Maeghan for about 6 months now and I definitely recommend her!!”

“Our 3yo son looks forward to seeing his friend Maeghan. She connects and communicates on their level. He has benefited and shown great improvement. Our son likes it because Maeghan plays and interacts with toys so the kids don't think about it being a lesson, it's just natural.

“Maeghan is the absolute best! She has worked with our twins for 9 months and we have seen tremendous improvement. Our nonverbal son is now making sounds and using pictures to communicate. Our other son is speaking in 3 word sentences. Maeghan is very knowledgeable and always consistent with therapy. We highly recommend her!”
